Greystar hires Ward Frisby as Development Director to support its growth strategy in Ireland

Ward Frisby, Development Director - Ireland, Greystar

Dublin, 01 July 2021 – Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC (“Greystar”), a global leader in the investment, development and management of high-quality rental housing properties, today announces the appointment of Ward Frisby as Development Director in Ireland.

Ward will support Greystar’s ambitious growth plans in Ireland by managing its growing development pipeline and delivery of new multifamily assets in and around Dublin. He will report to Claire Solon, Managing Director – Ireland, and join a team of 50 development professionals across Europe with 7,849 units underway across 7 markets.

Ward will be involved in all future development projects in Ireland and his appointment coincides with Greystar completing the final phase of its first rental housing scheme in Ireland, Quayside Quarter. Located in Dublin Landings on North Wall Quay, Quayside Quarter is a thoughtfully amenitised development that benefits from the demand for high quality rental accommodation from employees of the host of technology and pharmaceutical companies nearby, which has dubbed the area ‘Silicon Docks’. Greystar acquired Quayside Quarter from Ballymore in 2019 for €175.5m.

Claire Solon, Managing Director of Greystar Ireland, said: “We have ambitious, long-term plans for Ireland and Ward’s experience, skills and insight into the market will be invaluable as we progress towards achieving our goals. There is an attractive gap for high-quality and professionally managed rental stock in Ireland and a hire of Ward’s calibre will help us to meet that demand by identifying and developing exceptional assets with high-quality amenities and services.”

Ward Frisby, Development Director or Greystar Ireland, said: “Greystar is a world leader in global rental housing and after hearing about their strategy for Ireland I could not wait to get started. Claire and the team have a clear vision to take the rental experience in Ireland to a new level through Greystar’s commitment to industry-leading standards of owning, developing and operating properties for the benefit of residents.”

Ward has advised several real estate funds in development management and was previously Head of Property at Harvey Norman Ireland where he was involved in the execution of its expansion strategy and managing fitouts for private rented sector properties. He also held the role of Construction Director at Quinby Properties with responsibility for the delivery of individual sites and started his career in commercial property as Project Manager at Bennett Construction.

Outside of work, Ward volunteers with the Irish Kidney Association assisting with fundraising efforts and has provided pro bono property advisory services to the Board of the charity Self Help Africa.
