Spain Portfolio Student Acquisition
The 2017 acquisition of Spain’s largest student housing platform, together with JV partners AXA Investment Managers and CBRE Global Investment Partners, gave Greystar immediate access and scale in a new market, a significant deal pipeline, and the in-place brand of Resa’s operating platform. The market leader in student accommodation, Resa operates 33 student assets comprising more than 9,000 beds in 19 Spanish cities, including Madrid and Barcelona. An additional four properties are under construction.

Chapter provides an exclusive student living experience targeted at London’s growing student population and has become the leading student platform attracting international students and top tier universities in a market lacking supply for purpose-built student accommodation. The portfolio’s student mix includes 37% postgraduate students and 78% international students.

DC Tower III is a joint venture 37-story residential tower development on the Danube waterfront in Vienna, one of Europe’s largest student hubs. Targeting students, corporates, and young professionals, DC Tower will have more than 830 high-quality units, including 330 student beds, with a full service and amenity package. The property is within close reach of 150,000 students and directly adjacent to United Nations City, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Ernst and Young headquarters. It will be completed in 2021.

DC Tower III is a joint venture 37-story residential tower development on the Danube waterfront in Vienna, one of Europe’s largest student hubs. Greystar acquired Monogram Residential Trust, Inc., an owner, operator and developer of high-quality apartment communities with a significant presence in select coastal markets, in September 2017. Monogram invested in stabilized operating properties and properties in various phases of development, with a focus on communities in select markets across the United States. The Monogram Portfolio consists of 48 high-quality properties with nearly 13,000 units totaling $4.4 billion of assets as at September 2017 in top-performing US markets with attractive, long-term multifamily fundamentals.

Guadalajara, Mexico Multifamily Development
Stratto Americas is a premium 33-story mixed-use development with 233 residential units in the heart of Guadalajara’s financial and corporate district. Greystar was able to source Stratto Americas off market and has acquired the residential apartment units in a forward purchase deal. Greystar worked closely with the project’s architect and significantly improved the space efficiency by optimizing floorplans and unit mix to design a world-class project. The project is currently in lease-up with an occupancy of around 30%.
