Throughout the year, we are celebrating team members across Greystar Europe. These individuals have played a key role in the success of our regional operations over the past decade and have achieved exciting career milestones within our organisation. 

This month, we are excited to recognise Charlie Lemmon, a part of our European student housing team. Over the past 5 years, he has been dedicated to enhancing the living experiences of students across London. Follow along as he shares more about his Greystar journey below:

 

What attracted you to Greystar?

“I have always been attracted to work in property management and investment, particularly within the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sector. Having navigated the challenges of communal living during my university days, I understood the needs and experiences of students. After completing my degree, I discovered Chapter by Greystar and recognised it as a dynamic and promising venture where I could not only contribute meaningfully but also champion an exceptional university experience for international students in London.”

What keeps you at Greystar?

“Reflecting on my journey since joining in 2019 as a Customer Service Associate, the past five years have been a whirlwind of growth and opportunity. Transitioning through various roles, from learning the ropes to becoming a Senior Community Manager, I've had the privilege to collaborate with exceptional colleagues and work across diverse London assets. Each day presents new avenues for learning and development, reinforcing my belief in Greystar's ethos.”

How would you describe Greystar’s culture?

“At Greystar, a culture of excellence permeates every facet of our operations. Within the UK student business, there's an unmistakable energy palpable in our sites and conversations with team members and residents. While we're a competitive bunch, we always celebrate each other's achievements or stick by one another. We have a robust, solid support network; whether it's lending a listening ear, providing additional resources, or simply sharing a drink, colleagues I work with are always there. The challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic underscored our adaptability and resilience to the ever-growing concerns, reinforcing our role as leaders shaping the future of our industry.”

What are you most looking forward to about Greystar’s future?

“I'm anticipating the continued growth and evolution of the PBSA market in the UK and Europe. With landmark projects like Chapter London Bridge and Bloom Nine Elms, Greystar is poised to redefine industry standards and elevate resident experiences to new heights. As our portfolio expands, so do the opportunities for personal and professional growth, both for existing team members and prospective recruits. Guiding the onboarding process for new properties and teams, a role I've embraced in the past, fills me with anticipation for the transformative impact these ventures will have.”
