E-waste Is the New Recycling Trend

Recycling is common these days, and environmentally-conscious apartment residents are doing everything they can to keep their recyclables from ending up in landfills. One common problem is electronics; they’re often hard to recycle, and many people can’t find facilities in their area. Luckily, there are some ways for individuals to make sure their electronics products don’t go to waste.

Contact Private Companies

Many private companies are picking up used electronics in working order or not to reuse their parts or to fix them to resell them. While it might not be worth it to you to fix an old computer, harnessing the parts inside or fixing it and reselling it can be worthwhile to somebody with the knowledge.

Make a Donation

If you can’t recycle electronics in your area, donating it to a charitable organization to handle for you makes a lot of sense. Charitable organizations often fix and sell products to those who need them or simply give them away. The Salvation Army and Goodwill stores usually accept electronics donations of all sizes.

Check with your Community Office
