Explore.

No matter where your interests lie, Portland has a scene you’ll celebrate. Spend your weekend exploring the Portland Saturday Market, the city’s largest outdoor arts and crafts market, or take the Portland Street Car to the South Waterfront and catch their annual farmer’s market. Located in the heart of downtown, Pioneer Courthouse Square is an urban park that is lovingly referred to as the city’s “living room” and hosts a variety of community events including concerts, outdoor movie nights, festivals and more. Pearl District — home to some of the city’s hottest restaurants, art galleries and boutiques — is another popular gathering spot for residents of our Asa apartment community. Join in on the First Thursdays in the Pearl, a district-wide celebration that happens each month to celebrate art enthusiasts, wine aficionados, live music and the best happy hours in the city.

See where the city got its beloved nickname at the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park, or experience the whole city in full speed by signing up for one of Portland’s biking tours. Outdoor enthusiasts can stay active with an exhilarating hike to the waterfall at Multnomah Falls or take a guided tour through Forest Park, the largest urban forest in America.

Dine.

After an adventure-filled day in the city, treat your taste buds to a delightful dining experience you’ll never forget. Meat lovers find their fix at Laurelhurst Market, a full-service butcher shop set inside a stylish restaurant and neighborhood bar. For a Southern celebration, residents of Burnside 26 head to Screen Door for family favorites such as biscuits and gravy, fried okra and fried black-eyed peas. Build your perfect pie at Apizza Scholls, home to some of the best pizza in the city, or indulge in a deeper Italian experience at Ava Gene’s, blending traditional cuisine with locally grown produce and meats. Those looking for a casual, yet delicious dining experience need to look no further than the more than 600 food carts dotting the city. The food cart craze has hit Portland and taken hold, providing unique and diverse fare to those looking for truly great street food – locals and tourists alike use sites like  Food Carts Portland and Travel Portland to keep up with the ever changing food cart scene.
