Rivera

BIOGRAPHY

Rafael Rivera is a Managing Director of Operational Risk at Greystar. He leads the company's global operational risk program, overseeing insurance placement and administration, claims management, and safety and loss control. Rafael partners with construction risk, corporate risk, legal, finance, and operations to advance risk management practices that protect Greystar's people and our assets.

Prior to Greystar, Rafael spent 15 years at General Electric Company as the Risk Manager for GE Aviation, GE Capital, and NBC Universal, and as the risk and insurance lead for mergers and acquisitions. He has over 29 years of risk management experience across multiple industries, including real estate and supply chain logistics. Rafael also received the Treasury and Risk Alexander Hamilton Silver Award for developing a digital mergers and acquisitions platform.

Rafael currently serves as president of the Fairfield, Connecticut, and Westchester, New York, chapter of the Risk and Management Society. He was a licensed Property and Casualty broker in New York for four years and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pace University.
