BIOGRAPHY

Rafael Fernandez-Villaverde is a Managing Director and leads the firm’s Southern Europe region, comprising Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. He is responsible for driving regional growth, capital allocation, strengthening coordination across markets, and supporting performance while working closely with established country leadership teams.

Prior to Greystar, Rafael led the investment team at Alantra’s Real Estate Private Equity Fund, focusing on retail, residential, and hospitality assets. He began his career in investment banking at Alantra as an Analyst and Associate, advising institutional investors on M&A and structured finance transactions while based in Madrid and London.

Rafael graduated with first-class honours in business administration and finance from ICADE University and studied abroad at the University of San Diego and the London School of Economics.
