BIOGRAPHY

Laura Mutterperl is a Senior Managing Director and General Counsel who provides legal and compliance guidance to Greystar’s Property Management business. Laura is responsible for supporting our strategic priorities and oversees the company’s Legal Services team, which includes litigation and contracts, compliance, communications, and operations processes.

Laura is a strategic business leader and trusted advisor with broad-based domestic and international in-house and law firm experience. Before joining Greystar in 2023, Laura was the Chief Legal Officer for Dream Hotel Group in New York, where she created and led the legal function and partnered with key business leaders to drive growth, brand development, and operational execution, culminating in the sale of the company’s core hotel brands and management business to Hyatt. Prior to her position with Dream Hotel Group, Laura served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Marriott/Starwood Hotels & Resorts for almost ten years, where she served as Divisional General Counsel for their Bliss Spa brand. As a member of the leadership team, she was responsible for structuring and negotiating all managed hotel development and brand conversions/operations takeovers in North America, including residential and complex mixed-use projects.

Prior to going in-house, Laura was an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis. She is currently a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s General Counsel Committee and the Advisory Board and Planning Committee for the Georgetown Law School Hotel & Lodging Legal Summit. Laura also participates as a speaker at various industry events. Laura earned her bachelor’s and law degrees from Harvard University.
