BIOGRAPHY

Jason Battelle is a Managing Director of Real Estate Operations for Greystar, where he leads half of the company's student platform. In this role, he oversees more than 35,000 beds spanning a diverse mix of asset types across the student housing industry including an on-campus portfolio, encompassing both owned and third-party assets, as well as a large off-campus third-party portfolio. Jason also works cross-functionally to drive operational excellence, align resources, and advance the growth objectives of the student platform, while maintaining oversight to key student support functions, including talent acquisition, sales, and operations support.

Prior to his current role, Jason served as a Senior Director of Real Estate Operations at Greystar, where he led a portfolio of purpose-built student communities totaling more than 13,000 beds. Earlier in his career, he held the roles of Director and Regional Property Manager, both with Greystar and its predecessor, EdR, which Greystar acquired in 2018. He began his career onsite as a Community Assistant and progressed through nearly every operational role outside of maintenance before transitioning to the corporate level in 2016. Jason is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and holds both the Certified Property Manager and Accredited Residential Manager designations.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Missouri.
