BIOGRAPHY
Gary Kerr is a Senior Managing Director at Greystar, leading the development platform across the Northeast and Eastern Canada regions. In his role, he oversees new development activity throughout Massachusetts, New York, Northern New Jersey, New England, and Ontario, and manages Greystar’s Boston-based life sciences investment platform. Gary currently sits on the Greystar Executive Committee.
Gary brings over 20 years of experience in real estate development, with a track record spanning multifamily, student housing, life science, office, and industrial assets. Since joining Greystar, he has been involved in the capitalization of nearly $5B of large scale vertical development, primarily across major markets in the Northeast. Prior to Greystar, Gary held senior leadership roles at Cronin Development, Tishman Speyer, and MIT Investment Management Company, where his experience focused on building and scaling development platforms, structuring and raising institutional capital, and leading the capitalization and execution of complex real estate investment strategies across multiple asset classes.
Gary is active in industry leadership through NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute, is a frequent speaker at real estate and development forums, and is regularly quoted in regional and national real estate media. He has also participated in industry podcasts and interviews discussing development strategy, housing supply, and market execution in high barrier urban environments.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts in business from Saint Anselm College and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Queens University. He also earned a Master of Science in construction and real estate from the University of Reading and a Master of Business Administration from Boston College.
