BIOGRAPHY

Douglas Brown is a Managing Director on the Portfolio Management team, where he acts as a representative during all property acquisitions by performing risk management assessments of the physical components of the assets.  He produces property inspection reports and final signoffs for the Investment Committee as part of the acquisition process.  Doug joined Greystar in 2001, and during his twenty years with the company, he has developed new properties, built and oversaw the Capital Projects Group, and participated in the acquisition of the first European ventures in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.  

Prior to joining Greystar, Doug oversaw the acquisitions, development, and construction of 47 assisted living communities while with Hearthstone Assisted Living. Before that, he assisted in the first acquisitions, renovations, and new development at Camden Property Trust. Doug has been on the Board Chairman of the PTSD Foundation of America for over five years and oversaw the development and construction of Camp Hope, a residential combat trauma program that works to reduce veteran suicides nationwide. 

Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction from Texas A&M University.
