For many, the thought of Colorado conjures up images of stunning scenery and memorable vacations. However, for over 5 million people, Colorado is simply where they call home.

In Boulder, located 30 miles outside of Denver, there are over 100,000 residents alone – and you can join them! When you sign a lease for a one- or two-bedroom apartment at  any of our Greystar communities in the area, every week can feel like a getaway.

With unlimited opportunities for exploration, it’s easy to fill every week with new experiences. Here’s just one way to live like a local for a week in Boulder, CO:

Saturday

Weekends are the perfect time to hit the trails. Enjoy a solo excursion, or make memories with the kids or your four-legged child at one of the area’s many outdoor destinations. With the Rockies just miles to the east, there is no shortage of adventure around every corner.

A popular place for locals and out-of-towners, the Flatirons feature multiple trails and unmatched views. Just a little more to the south, you can explore El Dorado Canyon State Park, boasting cascades, cliff-top views and more! In the wintertime, outdoor enthusiasts can hit nearby trails by fat bike or snowshoe.

Sunday

Get ready for some Sunday Night Football! Take a short drive into Denver and cheer on the Broncos at Sports Authority Field at Mile High as they take on premier NFL teams from across the country.

A little closer to home, you can support the Colorado Buffaloes at the University of Colorado Boulder, a member of the Pac-12 Conference. The school features varsity football, men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, golf, skiing and indoor and outdoor track and field, as well as women’s lacrosse, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

Monday

Why not start the day with a little fly fishing before work? That’s what one local likes to do according to a special CBS Sunday Morning segment about America’s happiest cities.

A Gallup research poll, measuring the overall well-being of over 188 metropolitan areas, ranked Boulder as number one based on everything from emotional to physical health. Is there something Boulder residents aren’t telling us?
