BIOGRAPHYGardner Rees is a Senior Managing Director of Advantage Solutions for the Property Management Business. Gardner developed and currently oversees various ancillary units for Greystar Management including renter’s insurance, utility billing, resident screening, resident & prospect services (portal), post-residency delinquency receivables, and national & regional partnerships / procurement / compliance. Gardner is also part of the innovation process at Greystar helping to drive new products and services into property management with the focus on improved resident experience, more efficient property operations, and driving financial returns for property ownership.
Gardner started his career in Investment banking at various Canadian and International institutions before getting involved in the multifamily residential industry in Seattle, WA. He has extensive experience in the acquisition of multifamily real estate including assets, loans, equity, and property management companies. Prior to Greystar, Gardner was an Executive and Principal with Riverstone Residential Group (acquired by Greystar in 2014), and a principal of Stratus Real Estate in Southern California (acquired by Riverstone in 2007).
Gardner is actively involved in various apartment associations, industry innovation groups, and contributes to industry events including speaking engagements on various topics surrounding the innovation and partnerships within property management and the apartment Industry. Gardner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA in Corporate Finance and Information Systems from York University’s Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
