Greystar Reaches Agreement with U.S. Department of Justice and Private Class Action Plaintiffs
Charleston, SC – August 8, 2025 – Greystar Management Services, LLC ("Greystar") has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to resolve DOJ’s claims about Greystar’s use of RealPage's revenue management software. Greystar has also reached an agreement in principle to settle a lawsuit brought by a nationwide class of renters alleging similar claims (In re: RealPage, Inc., Rental Software Antitrust Litigation).
Greystar firmly believes that its use of RealPage's revenue management software complies with all applicable laws. That is why Greystar has vigorously defended itself in these matters and will continue to defend itself against any claims brought by regulators. Today's settlements do not change that belief and the settlements contain no admission of wrongdoing.
Greystar remains committed to being at the forefront of innovation in service of its clients and residents, all within the bounds of the law. The industry continues to face litigation and unclear regulatory guidance around the use of revenue management tools. We entered into these settlements to make clear the government's interpretation of the law and to ensure we continue to do things the right way. The settlements with the DOJ and the private plaintiffs also represent a significant step in putting these litigations behind us and moving the industry forward.
The settlements provide clarity for Greystar and the industry at large. They acknowledge the shifting regulatory landscape while reinforcing our ability to deliver bespoke advice and leverage technology and innovation across the wide range of services we provide.
The settlements let us remain focused on delivering best-in-class service to our clients and residents and continue working on the development of much-needed new housing supply across the country.
