Milestones: Kevin McHugh's 5-Year Journey at Greystar

As we continue our Greystar team member milestones series, we're sharing another Europe employee journey. This time, we're taking a moment to recognise Kevin McHugh, Senior Director in our construction division.

Throughout his 5-year tenure at Greystar, Kevin has played an important role in delivering many large-scale projects across the region, showcasing his growth and contributions from day one to today. Read on as he shares more about his experience:
 

 

What attracted you to Greystar?

“It was through a recommendation that I found myself being suggested for a role. When researching Greystar, I developed a deep appreciation for the core values such as integrity, professionalism, and teamwork. Recognising the challenges faced by my previous sector (Retail), I concluded that the build-to-rent (BTR) sector held immense promise. Believing in the solid foundation of BTR and its potential for the future, I decided to embark on a new journey in a sector that aligned with my values and offered further growth.”

 

 

What keeps you at Greystar?

“When I joined Greystar, I held the position of Pre-Construction Director and have subsequently been promoted to Senior Construction Director. This role has afforded me the chance to spearhead the delivery of some of our most significant projects to date. Working on exceptional sites with high value and intricate challenges has provided me with opportunities for personal development.”

How would you describe Greystar’s culture?

“As a global business, I have noticed a significant amount of support from the core team based overseas. I faced an issue with a large development that I needed support on. After seeking support, one of our executive team members was able to use his network and help to find solutions. We are held to high standards, but everyone is supportive to help achieve those standards. My personality is aligned with the values of the business, that’s why I like it here!”

 

 

What are you most looking forward to about Greystar’s future?

“We have been kept busy within the last year with more funds launching and more sites being developed. Looking into this year, I can see we won’t be slowing down. This will give me the opportunity to take on more responsibility and manage larger teams and projects of greater scale. As the business grows, so does my role, giving me more personal growth.”
