BIOGRAPHY

John Clarkson is a Managing Director for Greystar Development Services, where he oversees all conventional, student, and active adult housing development activity in the Mid-Atlantic division, which includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  

Before joining Greystar in 2019, John was a Senior Vice President with JBG Smith Properties, where he led mixed-use development projects within the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. John began his career as an Analyst with the JBG Companies. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute Transit Oriented Development Product Council, the National Multi-Housing Council, and former President of the DC Real Estate Group.  

John received his bachelor’s of arts degree in History and Spanish from Vanderbilt University and his Master’s of Business Administration from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
