As managing director of student living development, Lance serves as the Greystar practice leader for all of the company's student living communities. Within the student living sector, Lance has executed both value-add acquisitions and ground-up development strategies spanning over 40 markets in 25 states and one Canadian province totaling $ 250 million in closed transactions and $ 2 billion valued in pursuit.

Overall, Lance has led the execution of over $ 400 million of real estate investment and development transactions closed for firms including GE Capital, SSR Realty (now BlackRock), JPI Partners and Inland American REIT. He has shaped and implemented investment strategies in over 50 primary and secondary markets in the U.S. and Canada for all major real estate asset classes, with a concentration in development of both traditional and mixed-use student housing.

Lance has specialized in "first-ever" transactions for firms with respect to size, complexity and diversification (by both geography and by asset class). He travels nationwide and leads a team that accomplishes these objectives while performing the conception-to-completion functions of establishing strategy, sourcing opportunities, negotiating transactions, and building and managing teams unto successful execution. Lance's direct investment leadership has comprised representation of institutional capital (SSR Realty), publicly traded investment firm capital (GE Capital), and non-traded REIT capital (Inland American) and spanned both sides of the equity investment transaction - as the capital source and as the sponsor.

Lance started his career at Accenture, where he performed business process and information technology consulting for U.S. clients nationwide in the banking, airlines and pharmaceutical industries. Lance is a Chartered Financial Analyst ® ( "CFA ®") charter holder.
