Mike is the executive director of real estate services for the Western United States. Prior to joining Greystar, Mike spent six years with Grey Development Group (GDG) as senior vice president where he managed the GDG affiliate, Gray Clow Residential LLC.

In this capacity, Mike was the designated broker and certified property manager responsible for the management and dispositions of 9,000-units. Additionally, he was responsible for the lease-up and sale of 16 GDG communities with sales totals in excess of $475 million. Before his tenure with GDG, Mike was division vice president of BRE Properties.

Mike received a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Masters of Business Administration from Arizona State. Currently Mike is the Region VII Vice President for the National Apartment Association (NAA) and board member for the Arizona Multi-Housing Association (AMA Property Managers, Marketing Division, Training Development and Rehab Division.

As executive director, Stacy is responsible for national client relations and new business pursuits for Greystar Management Services. He is a leader of the management company executive committee and serves on the operating committee for Greystar Real Estate Partners.

Stacy helped build the firm's management group presence through the opening of regional offices in Arizona, Florida, and additional offices in Texas. Prior to joining the Greystar predecessor Greystone in 1982, he served as first vice president of United Savings Association of Texas. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas. During his tenure with Greystar, Stacy has served our industry in numerous leadership capabilities, including president of the Houston Apartment Association, president of the Texas Apartment Association, and as a member of the joint legislative committee for the National Multifamily Housing Council and National Apartment Association.

Stacy is a licensed Texas real estate broker. He and his family reside in Houston, Texas.

Michelle Betchner is managing director of Client Services for Greystar. She leads client outreach and relationship management efforts, and develops and implements strategies for pursuing new business development, managing client communication, and overseeing relationships with top strategic clients in the Greystar Property Management Services business. Michelle has been in the multifamily industry since 1986, and is a thoughtful leader whose expertise in real estate development, redevelopment, lease ups, and acquisitions is highly regarded. Prior to joining Greystar, Michelle served as the senior vice president of client services at Riverstone Residential Group, the senior vice president of performance at Alliance Residential, and vice president of performance with Pinnacle, where she was involved in marketing, training, ancillary services, recruiting, and new business development. Michelle received a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and a master’s degree in education from Arizona State University.

Christy Throm is managing director of Client Services, and leads all phases of the Greystar business development process for Pacific Northwest clients. She holds extensive experience in overseeing new high-end apartment communities, mid-high rise product, conversions, renovation projects, and garden-style communities. Christy has been active in the multifamily industry since 1990, when she began her career as a leasing consultant. Prior to joining Greystar, Christy served as vice president of client services at Riverstone Residential Group, and vice president of the Pacific Northwest for Alliance Residential Company, where she was responsible for both Oregon and Washington operations. During her 15-year tenure at Allied Group, Inc., she acted as vice president for the Washington division of conventional housing. Christy is a licensed broker in the state of Washington, and holds a certified property manager designation.

Scott Watson is director of real estate, and is responsible for a Greystar portfolio in the Portland, Oregon area. He currently oversees Portland-area new business development, assists with client acquisition and disposition efforts, and works with several apartment developers to help deliver new apartment projects. Active in the real estate industry since 1979, Scott holds expertise all facets of apartment, office and industrial property management, and development. Prior to its acquisition, Scott joined Riverstone Residential Group as vice president in 2003. Before that, he worked for the Irvine Company in Newport Beach, California, where he managed apartments and office buildings. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 1995 to pursue industrial management and development opportunities, he held senior real estate management positions with Harsch Investments and Naito Properties. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from San Diego State University.

Before joining Greystar in 2011, Brian was a director at BlackRock Realty Advisors with portfolio and asset management responsibilities for several separate accounts. Prior to that, Brian was the president of Metric Property Management, managing over $2 billion of multifamily housing in 14 states. Brian has direct lease-up experience with approximately 8,000 units in California, Arizona, Washington, and Utah. Brian’s experience includes the management of garden-style, mid-rise, and high-rise multifamily product for private owners, REITs, and institutions.

Richard Friedman is managing director of Client Services for Greystar. He is responsible for management of all phases of the business development process for clients in Southern California, including lead development, underwriting, market assessment, and strategic planning for new assets under management. Prior to joining Greystar in the 2014 acquisition of Riverstone Residential Group, Richard’s previous eight-year tenure included roles as vice president and senior vice president. At Riverstone, he conducted the lease up of apartments throughout California while maintaining oversight of renovation product/repositioning and stabilized asset performance. Richard previously oversaw a Southern California-based portfolio for Trammell Crow Residential Services, where he directed and coordinated all phases of property management functions within the portfolio, including property operations, financial planning, product merchandising, due diligence for third-party acquisitions, and management transitions. Richard has been active in the multifamily industry since 1994, when he started his career at R&B Apartment Management Company. He holds a bachelor degree from the University of Miami.

She has extensive experience with high-rise, mid-rise, garden-style, conventional, affordable, and lease-up communities, and has assisted clients with their strategies for asset renovation and repositioning. Elizabeth joined Greystar in 2005, and has been active in the multifamily industry since 1990. Prior to joining Greystar, she held roles as vice president of client services for Riverstone Residential Group, asset manager at MIG/AEC, regional manager at Forest City, and vice president at Omni in Colorado. She has a bachelor degree in business management from Bloomsburg University. Elizabeth holds certified property manager and certified apartment manager designations, and is a licensed employing broker in the states of Colorado, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, and Louisiana. Elizabeth has served the Apartment Association of Southern Colorado as past president, board member, and CAM/CAPS instructor. In addition, she is a former member of the board of directors for the Colorado Apartment Association. Elizabeth is an active participating member of the National Multi Housing Council.

Joey joined Greystar in 2015, and has been a multifamily professional since 2012. Before Greystar, he worked for Hunt Companies, formerly known as Centerline Capital Group, as a low-income housing tax credit asset manager. He has also worked for Principal Financial Group on its asset management team. Joey is a United States Marine Corps veteran.

Sue is knowledgeable in all aspects of property operations, including new construction, due diligence, repositioning, rehabs, and lease ups. Active in the multifamily industry since 1984, Sue joined Greystar in 2013. Her previous roles include community manager, regional property manager, marketing associate, sales director, and director of real estate, and she is experienced in all classes of properties, serving both private and institutional clients in the market rate and affordable housing arenas. Sue is a former board member and education committee chair for the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and remains an active member of the organization. She currently teaches the marketing component of her local CRM certification program.

Karen serves as a delegate to the Texas Apartment Association Board of Directors and National Apartment Association Board of Directors. She is the past president of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, and has served on the City of Dallas Board of Adjustment. Karen holds designations as a certified property manager and certified apartment property supervisor, and is a licensed Texas realtor. He began his career in real estate with Greystar in 2010 as a part-time leasing agent. Ben Lemming is director of Client Services for Greystar. He is responsible for identifying acquisition and development opportunities in Central and West Texas and matching them with current and prospective Greystar clients, strategically growing the management portfolio, and establishing and nurturing relationships with a multitude of multifamily owners, developers, financiers, and brokers. Ben serves as the primary contact for clients seeking management, consulting, and due diligence services within Central and West Texas. Additionally, he is responsible for tracking changing market conditions, recent transactions, cap rate and price trends, and new management technologies. Previous to his current role, Ben was a market and financial analyst with Greystar in both Dallas and Chicago. Active in the multifamily industry since 2005, Ben joined Greystar in 2006 through the acquisition of JPI, and held positions with RREEF in Chicago prior to that. During that time, he evaluated acquisition opportunities, feasibility of new developments, optimal value-add strategies, and procedural efficiencies. His experience with a variety of clients, asset types, and markets has strengthened his knowledge of the varying dynamics within the multifamily industry. Ben is a graduate of Santa Clara University. He resides in Austin, Texas, and is a current member of the Real Estate Council of Austin.

Ryan has been active in the multifamily industry since 2003, and came to Greystar in 2009, after six years with Hendricks and Partners’ Houston office, where he was involved with the sale of more than $1.5 billion worth of multifamily assets ranging in quality from Class A “core” product to REO sales. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and holds an active Texas real estate license.

Additionally, Scott spent four years on active duty in the Army as a platoon leader and a logistics officer.

Gary is the executive director of real estate services for the Eastern United States. Prior to joining Greystar in October 2001, Gary was a Principal with Trammell Crow Company for 13 years where he held numerous leadership roles. Most recently, Gary was responsible for all institutional services for Trammell Crow Company throughout the State of Florida for investment sales, property management and project leasing. Gary's real estate portfolio in Florida consisted of 35 million square feet of office, industrial, retail and corporate facilities in the six major metropolitan markets. The institutional service business generated in excess of $22 million in gross revenues with the support of 197 real estate professionals. Prior to holding this position, Gary was responsible for overseeing Trammell Crow Company’s South Florida services business, which enjoyed a minimum of 30% growth in portfolio size and net revenues. Gary joined Trammell Crow Company in 1989 as a senior property manager after spending three years as a multi-family property manager in South Florida for a local services firm. Gary holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville University. Gary is a past President of BOMA of South Florida and holds a RPA designation, a member of NAIOP and a Florida Real Estate Broker.

Jack Biehunko is the director of client services for Greystar Student Living, and helps facilitate new business opportunities within the student living platform. Jack has served as a student living professional since 2009, and possesses a strong background in student market knowledge, lease-up new development, marketing analysis and planning, and strategic operational training. Prior to joining Greystar, Jack spent two years with CWS Apartment Homes as their regional marketing director for student living. Jack also spent five years with Asset Campus Housing, starting as an on-site community assistant at Texas A&M University and advancing to a regional new development leasing and marketing specialist role. Jack holds a bachelor of science in leadership studies from Texas A&M University.
